The annual Knoxville High School sports calendar took a productive turn toward supporting local students in the fall of 2006.  What had been produced out of town over the years, the sports calendar is now managed by the Knoxville Dollars for Scholars chapter.  Our intent is to keep all the advertising revenues in town, and in turn, help provide graduating students with additional scholarships. 

 

“We’re very pleased with the tremendous support of so many local businesses who invested in the calendar project,” stated Dollars for Scholars board member David Hoke.  “The common thread among all of them was how happy they were that their advertising dollars were staying local to support our students and programs.” 

 

“Too often, projects like this result with the majority of funds going out of town when special projects or items are produced,” stated Kevin Wadle, a participating advertiser. “The success of this project goes a long way to show with a little work and a clear purpose for businesses to participate in, everyone ends up winning."
