DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS PRESS ROOM
July, 2008 – The Knoxville Dollars for Scholars chapter has announced the appointment of Jamie Hollingshead as our new treasurer.  Jamie is a Senior Vice President at the Iowa State Savings Bank in Knoxville.  He and his wife Susan have three boys in the Knoxville school system.  Jamie joins the board replacing one of the chapter's founders, Bob Wims.  Bob has served since the chapter's inception in 2003 and played a key role in our success.  Knoxville Dollars for Scholars will be forever grateful to Bob and at the same time, welcome Jamie to our board.

July, 2008 - The second annual Knoxville Nationals 1/3rd marathon and 4K races are just around the corner on Saturday, August 2.  New this year is our presenting sponsor, Pella Corp., and for our 4-K race, we welcome our local 4-H chapter as it's sponsor.  The start and finish line will relocate to Auld Park this year and will feature a terrific finish area festival after the race.  For runners participating, the word is...our "swag bag" is second to none!  Join us!

“Knoxville’s Dollars for Scholars has done a lot in recent years for our local students.  I’m pleased to support their program with a named scholarship that will go to a young woman pursuing an education in the dental or medical field. Good luck to all Knoxville graduates!”
